Data Analyst - SHE

Location: Cambridge (CB4)

Polytec are looking for a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our Cambridge based client's SHE department. This role will initially be on a temporary basis although there is a strong chance it will go permanent. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail with strong data analysis / manipulation skills. This role will offer a good level of autonomy although you will also be collaborating closely with both the SHE and QA departments.

Responsibilities:

* Gather and check raw data from internal and external digital repositories / portals as well as accounts systems
* Update and maintain Excel spreadsheets of Environmental, Safety and QA performance data on a routine basis
* Create pivot tables and charts in Excel to analyse and present data and report on observed data findings and associated trends
* Update monthly performance dashboards for key performance indicators that are visible to the whole of the company
* Create new performance dashboards and supporting Excel spreadsheets
* Gather and collate Environmental data for external reports e.g. SECR and ESOS
* Create monthly and quarterly MAAR and other performance reports
* Work with IT to help enable transfer of existing Excel systems and data to Power BI
* Evaluate current processes and improve data analysis and performance monitoring, embracing new approaches to ways of working and reporting, as required, to meet the needs of the business
* Ability to create and implement extensive test plans to ensure any new systems or enhancements to existing systems are thoroughly tested

Requirements:

* Advanced Excel Skills, including capabilities in Power Pivot, Power Query, Pivot Tables, VBA macros, complex formula construction, and dynamic data visualization through charts
* Good understanding of Statistical analysis techniques and presentation of data
* Excellent attention to detail resulting in rigorous and robust data analysis
* Ability and desire to learn new systems
* Able to deliver results to required timescales and strive for continuous improvement
* Power BI experience would be beneficial
