Support Desk Engineer

Polytec are recruiting for a Support Desk Engineer on behalf of a company based just north of Cambridge. This is a customer facing role which is an exciting, diverse and challenging position providing technical Support and Solutions to customers.

Please note: UK SC clearance will be required for this role

What You'll Be Doing:

* Receive customer calls and emails, logging these within the company's support desk system
* Communicate with customers in a courteous and professional manner
* Provide technical support across a range of products
* Distribute software and generate licences for customers
* Write customer facing documentation (e.g. application notes, FAQs)
* Maintain internal equipment, systems and processes
* Continuously develop technical skills and product knowledge

What We're Looking For:

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience in a customer support desk role in a commercial/B2B environment within in a high-tech product development organisation
* Knowledge of MS Office
* Track record of delivering first class results to tight deadlines
* Strong analytical ability with a consistent and methodical approach
* Self-starter, able to research, identify, plan and implement
* Team player
* Good attention to detail
* Focus on continuous improvement

Desirable skills:

* Experience in working with digital radio communication networks and associated technologies (e.g. TETRA, MPT1327, DMR, GSM/3G/LTE, GPS, Bluetooth)
* Experience of working within a commercial software/hardware product development lifecycle
* Awareness of project management methods and techniques
* Multi-lingual (e.g. Spanish, Portuguese)
* Microsoft SharePoint and Dynamics AX
