Host of global tech leaders confirmed for inaugural Cambridge Tech Week

The inaugural Cambridge Tech Week is just a couple of months away and it’s set to be an amazing event, with artificial intelligence (AI) and deep tech leaders from some of the world’s biggest companies confirmed to be in attendance.

Running 8-12 May, Cambridge Tech Week will host executives from Google, Apple, BT and Arm, as well as a former Twitter chairman and speakers from local businesses Riverlane, Cambridge Intelligence and AgriTech-E, to name but a few.

Confirmed event speakers include:

- Howard Watson, Chief Security and Networks Officer of BT Group
- Whitney Richardson, Aesthetics Scientist at Apple
- Kirsty Gill, Chief People Officer of Arm
- Toju Duke, Program Manager for Responsible AI at Google
- Patrick Pichette, former Chairman at Twitter

Cambridge Tech Week, which is the brainchild of Cambridge Wireless and partners, is designed to celebrate future innovations in AI, semiconductors and quantum technologies. It will unite companies, organisations and academic institutions to showcase the best of the region’s cutting-edge technology and companies.

In addition to the main events, Cambridge Tech Week will also host the first ‘Big Tech Debate’. Held at the Cambridge Union Debating Chamber, delegates will have the opportunity to pose questions on the biggest issues and opportunities in technology today to those at the forefront of the industry.

Finally, the Innovation Alley element will provide a platform for bright young start-ups and early-stage companies to parade their solutions. There is space available on May 9 and 10 for 20 innovative organisations involved with AI/ML, Medtech, Robotics and immersive technologies. A panel of judges will select the final 20 companies and there will be a special commendation to the top three innovators who will be announced at the CTW conference at Hinxton Hall.

Judges will assess Innovation Alley applicants based on the following criteria:

- Originality of the innovation
- Potential commercial, economic or societal impact
- Maturity of go-to-market plans
