Facilities Manager

We are looking for a passionate, results orientated individual to join a Cambridge based company taking on responsibility for all Facilities Management related activities. You will oversee the day-to-day building operations and ensure that all services and activities are carried out efficiently. You must possess good working knowledge of relevant best practices and legislation.

Responsibilities

* First point of contact for all building issues, ensuring building services, associated systems and records are kept up to date and equipment is maintained
* Responsible for the management of all building maintenance and security systems including access control, CCTV, cameras and readers
* Manage building contracts and works, regularly review supplier's performance and co-ordinate associated adhoc small projects
* Responsible for the management of all on site contractors: instruct tasks, supervise and sign off on all works completed
* Day to day general safety responsibilities for the site
* Support with audit activities
* Organise safety training for relevant teams
* Co-ordinate risk assessments and carry out site checks
* Respond quickly to emergency situations eg fire, evacuation, first aid, equipment failure
* Manage core building services maintenance contracts, regularly review third party contracts and suppliers; negotiate preferred rates and terms
* Procure furniture, materials and equipment as required
* Budget and closely monitor building costs, including supplier invoices via the Finance team

Requirements

* A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a Facilities or Building Management role in a similar industry
* IOSH, Nebosh or similar safety training
* An excellent communicator, you will have the ability to develop and maintain exceptional working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
* Proactive by nature and a self-starter, ability to think on your feet
* Ability to identify problems and implement appropriate solutions proactively and quickly
* Someone who strives for a high level of organisation within a rapidly changing environment
* Excellent IT Skills; Microsoft Office software, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

The following would be an advantage:

* An understanding of security systems software and ERP
* European language skills, in particular German
