Administrator: Charitable Trust

Our Client, The Sir Richard Stapley Education Trust (the Trust) was founded in 1919 by the businessman and philanthropist Sir Richard Stapley with the objective of promoting education. For more information about the history of the Trust and its objectives visit it website.

The Trust is governed by a Board of Trustees. The Administrator is the Trust's only employee and is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day running of the Trust as directed by the Trustees.

NOTE: Please do not apply unless you have previous demonstrable experience within the charities sector

Administer the grant application and review process
* Provide packs to applicants
* Receive and review completed applications to confirm eligibility
* Obtain references
* Prepare a summary of applications
* Allocate applications to Trustees for review
* Maintain the accounts
* Make payments authorised by the Trustees, including grants to successful applicants.
* Prepare quarterly and annual budgets
* Assist in the preparation and audit of the Annual Report
* Monitor cash balance and arrange for purchase of investment units
General Administration
* Arrange Board of Trustees' meetings, prepare agenda, circulate papers in advance and take minutes
* Maintain the database of grant holders in compliance with GDPR
* Prepare the annual newsletter
* Maintain the website and make updates authorized by the Trustees'
* Correspond with the Trust's regular donors
* Support the Trust's Annual Survey of grant holders
* Represent the Trust at conferences and seminars as required
* Manage the Trust's social media accounts (LinkedIn and Facebook)
* Support fund raising activities


* Administration in the charity and/or education sectors
* Knowledge of charity regulations
* Management of finances

* Experience of Post Graduate Education Sector
* Management of social media
* Fund raising


Ability to work independently
Excellent communication skills
Interested in promoting the aims of the Trust (supporting education)


2.5 days a week (17.5 hours) average - this will vary throughout the year
Salary: £20,000 (£40,000 pro rata)
10 days paid holiday (20 days pro rata)
Flexible working hours, but will be required to support the Trust's annual funding cycle with January to March being the busiest period
Home based, ideally London

Commencement date: June 2019
