Production Engineer - Electronics

We are looking for a Production Engineer (Electronics) to join the highly skilled production team of a company based just outside Cambridge.

Responsibilities

* Management of production / test / qualification equipment
* Qualification engineering (analysis, inspection and test) to verify compliance of Test equipment and results
* Assist engineering on an ad hoc basis with the development of company products
* Assist with the creation of operating instructions, assembly instructions, including formal assembly and detailed drawings, hazard / safety analyses, change requests, change notes etc
* Management of some production ramp up projects - typically for new product introductions (NPI) (eventual volumes likely to be 100s or 1000s/year)
* Liaison with and support of client technical staff. Processing of customer returns and the creation of fault analysis reports where appropriate
* Management and maintenance of tool and equipment calibration across two sites
* Provision of Technical support to production

Requirements

* Essential basic level of electronics to GCSE / A Level as a minimum, ideally qualified to a degree level in relevant subjects
* Action Oriented - Enjoys working hard; is action oriented with a can-do attitude
* Decision Quality - Makes good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment
* Relationships with Peers - Team player, can communicate effectively encouraging collaboration and gains trust and support of his / her peers
* Problem Solving - Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions, can see hidden problems, looks beyond the obvious and doesn't stop at the first answer
* Organised - Can plan and prioritise their work to meet expectations
* Report Writing - Can write clear, concise and well-structured reports for customers and internal evaluation
* IT Literate - Demonstrable working knowledge of Windows operating systems and MS Office

The following would be an advantage:

* Able to read and understand circuit schematics
* Ability to fault find to component level on PCBA
* Previous experience in a production environment
* Working knowledge of IPC and ISO standards
